Michael Lohner co-founded Canadian Strategy Group with Hal Danchilla in 2008.

As an accomplished government relations consultant, Michael has a strong record of achievement in the public, private and political sectors. After nearly three decades of experience, he has become known as a trusted advisor and strategist for many large companies and associations when navigating both federal and provincial governments.

Prior to co-founding Canadian Strategy Group, Michael spent seven years leading pharmaceutical government relations for Johnson & Johnson in Western Canada. He is a former Chief of Staff to the Klein government in Environment, Agriculture and Infrastructure.

Michael was in the war room for each of the 2008, 2012, and 2015 provincial elections and has managed campaigns at all levels of government. Today, he is frequently called upon to provide operational expertise, candidate training and advice to both candidates and elected officials.

Michael regularly provides media commentary on politics, government and policy. His strategic advice is sought-after by many associations and executives.

Michael holds a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University, and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta.
