Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction
Tanya Fir was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Calgary-Peigan, on April 16, 2019. She previously served as Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism.
Ms. Fir is a member of the Select Special Child and Youth Advocate Search Committee. She previously served as a member of the Select Special Democratic Accountability Committee and of the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship.
Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, Ms. Fir was employed with Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) for 16 years as a Human Resources Advisor.
Ms. Fir holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary, with a concentration in Management of Organizations and Human Resources.
She enjoys running and volunteers with Calgary Reads, helping young readers improve their literacy skills.
